MEET THE TEAM

Kiley Laws Executive Director

Kiley is an elementary school teacher in Astoria Oregon with a background in Art and Art Education. As a BFA student at Western State College of Colorado, Kiley studied painting and printmaking. Going on to study Art Education at Colorado State University, she developed a love for pottery, fiber arts, and most importantly, working with kids. Chloe Maglio Assistant Director

Chloe is a teacher and administrator at a Montessori based preschool in Seaview Washington. She comes from a family of educators, and has always enjoyed working with children, so she was immediately thrilled to be a part of Art Room when the concept was introduced. She loves animals, sewing, cooking plant based food, and learning! She relocated from the Midwest at the beginning of the pandemic, and is so grateful to be surrounded by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest coast.

Andrea Mazzarella Board President

Andrea most recently served on the Board of Directors for the Astoria Arts and Movement Center and Clatsop Community College, prior to accepting the position of Board President for the Art Room. She enjoys the collaborative process of building and supporting organizations that foster creativity and personal growth, and is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of strengthening this already vibrant community. Professionally, she’s worked the last 5 years as a real estate broker, with a 20 year background in food, beverage and service industries. Andrea grew up in the Astoria public school system. She remembers the impact of creative arts education in her youth and believes in the importance of passing that opportunity on to the next generations by furthering the mission of the Art Room.

Lila Barrett  Board Secretary

Lila works as the Operations Manager at the North Coast Food Web in Astoria, Oregon. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY, where she received a public arts education for middle and high school - an experience that was formative in her belief that all students have the right to arts education and environments to express themselves safely in. After graduating with a BA in Urban Studies from The New School, Lila worked at the Participatory Budgeting Project, a nonprofit that works on local voter engagement in youth and communities with marginalized identities in New York City. She loves animals, chili oil, and making crafts with her hands!
